I listen to audio books on my commute. This morning I plugged my headphones into my newest Playaway and…it was a narrator with a British accent! I can’t put into words how excited I was by this discovery.
I love books, but a British accent just adds to the magic of the text. It just does!
So my thought about this slice of my life: Libraries should organize their audio books by the accent of the narrator. Yep. Life changing.
I’ve listened to two audio books with British/English accents. The first was The War that Saved My Life – brilliant. And right now I’m 3/4 done with The Lakehouse by Kate Morton. So, so good!!
Thanks for the suggestions!
Love this! I have my GPS set to give directions in a British accent when I am driving. Even though it gets annoyed with me when I don’t turn where I am supposed to, it gets annoyed in such a delightfully-accented way! And now I will need to investigate these nicely narrated audiobooks.
I wish I could figure out how to do that! My GPS always has to reroute and an accent would make it so much better!
That’s not a bad idea! I’d vote for German accents though. TEEHEEE ❤
That’s the beauty of my plan…I could go straight to British and Australian, you could go to German. Although, I’m not sure how many audio books are read by people with German accents?
British accents are the best!
Yes, that british accent is awesome. My old GPS Used to have one that was fun to use!
Where do you get your audio books? I need a system!
