“D, R, and I are going to see Ready Player One when it comes out over Spring Break,” he told me when he got home from school. “Apparently R listened to it earlier this year.” Troy had read it in the fall and then loaned it to D to read.
Two things ran through my mind:
1. When did you get this old that you can go see a movie with friends?
2. You are so lucky to have friends at 12 years old who have read the same book as you before the movie comes out!
I’m a firm believer in book before movie and love when kids have that experience. How nice that your son can have it with two friends!
Wow! What a plan! Three of them have figured this out as well as read the book and ready for the movie. What a special friendship leading to some fun time over spring break!
How wonderful all 3 have read the same book and want to see the movie together! They will have many great conversations about that book/ movie!
I can’t wait to see that movie.. I better get on reading the book. Isn’t it amazing how at times we just stop… and think .. how did it happen?
I really enjoyed the book (didn’t expect to) and can’t wait for my son to be old enough to read it. Sounds like your kid has some good friends.
I love that there is so much discussion around a book! How wonderful that this clan has planned to watch the movie of a book that they have read…actually read! There is hope!
